Babcock International

Company overview

Babcock is the UK's leading engineering support services organisation. In the last decade the group has been extremely successful in growing both through acquisition and organically, seeing revenue increase from £378 million in 2003 to over £3.2 billion in 2013. Babcock International employs nearly 27,000 people across the world.

As our business grows and our skill requirements change, we will always be looking for experienced professionals, trade and craft personnel. We offer a hugely diverse number of career options, whether you join us as an apprentice, student, graduate or fully qualified professional.

Career development

Babcock regularly recruits apprentices across all of its divisions within the UK:

Critical and mobile assets
Cavendish nuclear
Marine and technology
Defence and security

In addition to our own internal vacancies, we work with many of our employer partners across the UK to assist in the recruitment of apprentices on their behalf.

If you want to find out if Babcock is right for you, we often offer undergraduate work experience as follows:

Summer internship programme: These are 10-12 week placements over the summer holiday. They are designed to give you an
opportunity to try out a particular profession or type of role to see if it’s something you might want
to do once you graduate. Summer placements opportunities, when available, are advertised on our website.

Year-long and 6-month internships and sponsorship: In some of parts of our business we may be able to offer both 12-month and 6-month internships, normally as an implicit part of a degree course. Internships/gap year opportunities, when available, are advertised on our website.
