We are recruiting for a EHS Advisor to join our Health, Safety & Environment team supporting our Service business within Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy Limited based predominantly at Wick, Scotland supporting two new wind farms these being Beatrice and Hywind.



The job holder on site ensures that the business complies with Health, Safety and Environmental legislation, corporate standards and site requirements on a day to day basis. The job holder is responsible for monitoring and assessing safety performance on site and implementing improvement plans as well as driving the ongoing Zero Harm safety culture.





What are my responsibilities?



The primary objective of this role will be to monitor and assess safety performance on site, implement improvement plans and drive the ongoing Zero Harm safety culture. This role is to support the servicing side of the business not construction and the successful candidate will report to a Regional EHS Manager.



Some of your day to day tasks will include but not be limited to



  • Provide assistance in the development of safe systems of work where required, and ensure documentation is regularly reviewed.

  • Ensure all accidents and near misses are recorded, reported and investigated in accordance with the company accident and reporting procedures and all corrective actions are identified, implemented and reviewed. Ensure accident and incident statistics are compiled for reporting to management.

  • Ensure relevant health, safety and environmental records (e.g. policy documentation, risk assessments, safety data sheets, registers, fire drills and training records) are kept, maintained and updated as and when necessary.

  • Ensure adequate supplies of effective Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as specified by risk assessments, are readily available.

  • Ensure provision is made for all employees, including agency temporary workers, to receive suitable and sufficient training and instruction by way of the company health, safety and environmental Induction Programme.

  • Escalate all potential RIDDOR (Reporting of Injuries, Diseases & Dangerous Occurrences Regulations) events to management to enable prompt and formal reporting to the Regulator.

What do I need to qualify for this job?



You will have a NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent preferably NEBOSH Diploma or working towards this qualification. You must have a background in working for large and complex engineering/manufacturing businesses where you've had to interact with multiple stakeholders. This role requires an individual who has excellent attention to detail, be self-motivated and be able to work under minimal supervision. You will have the ability to deliver effectively and on time.



You will be able to demonstrate strong organisation skills and have excellent attention to detail. A strong level of competence within H&S including knowledge of H&S legislation is a pre-requisite. Lastly, you will have solid communication skills, both written and verbal.
