About the role

We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Assurance Analyst working within the Network Planning and Regulation department in the SP Energy Networks business based in our dynamic new Headquarters in Glasgow City Centre. This department has full accountability for management of the regulatory contract; managing the network, system planning and policy; process and systems including business change; workforce renewal.

Part of a small team focused on regulatory compliance with SPEN’s licences; assurance of regulatory submissions; and assurance over broader SPEN activities.

This senior analyst role focused on compliance with SPEN’s Business Separation obligations and managing the risk reporting framework within SPEN on an ongoing basis. It also supports SPEN’s Data Assurance Guidance (DAG) Framework over regulatory submissions.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

* Responsible for the day to day oversight of Business Separation within SPEN and across the wider SP group 
* Support SPEN’s Data Assurance Framework over its extensive annual submissions to Ofgem and undertake a wide range of reviews to support this, particularly, but not limited to, assurance over RRP returns
* Support the annual risk assessment for each regulatory submission, including liaison with other DNOs and TOs
* Administer the Risk Management reporting process on behalf of SPEN ensuring full compliance with the group-wide risk management assessment and reporting guidelines.
* Monitor the timely delivery of all SPEN submissions ensuring relevant assurances are in place prior to submission to Ofgem
* Manage the annual update of the insurance renewal 
* Work across the business to provide support and advice on business assurance issues.
* Support the Licence & Assurance Manager in identifying and understanding changing business risks
* Challenge current processes to seek and deliver ongoing efficiencies.
* Support other team activities as and when necessary

About you

We are looking for someone who is proactive, independent and self-motivated with a good awareness of risk and control concepts. You should have strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate objectively and effectively both orally and in writing. You should display a strong commitment to working in a team and be able to work under pressure to ensure appropriate action is taken in a timely and effective manner.

Ideally you will have a degree in a relevant discipline, although consideration will be given to candidates who can demonstrate significant relevant experience. You should have a good understanding of IT systems, including knowledge of application and general computer controls. In this role you will be required to undertake comprehensive reviews covering a range of control and compliance areas through the application of analysis and business judgement/experience, therefore you will need to articulate clearly the conclusion of works done and deliver in a logical non-emotive way with a high standard of written English.

As Business Assurance work is dynamic, the successful candidate must react to business needs therefore a flexible and adaptable approach is required. With your good working knowledge of regulatory environment, business operations and practices, you should be able to understand the licences that govern the business and identify and resolve problems to ensure compliance risks are addressed.

This is a permanent, full-time position based in Glasgow with a starting salary from £41,121 per annum depending on experience and qualifications, and other company benefits including Stakeholder Pension plan, training and development, generous annual leave and flexible benefits of your choice.
