About the role

We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Operations & Maintenance HSE Engineer within ScottishPower Renewables based in London. Reporting to Head of O&M Services, the main purpose of the role is to coordinate and standardise HSEQ activities in regards to the O&M activities, ensuring procedures and guidelines are available for Site HSE mangers, especially in regards to Safety Management Systems.

Ensuring that the O&M activities, Projects and Work Packages have adequate Health Safety Environment (HSE) controls in place and are implemented accordingly, the role will coordinate HSEQ activities with corporate functions, making sure company standards are applicable to the sites whilst conducting yearly inspections and audit plans.

You will coordinate with the H&S Corporate team and provide necessary support in incident investigation and supporting any necessary disciplinary action, compiling and gathering standardised statistics in regards to incidents for the O&M team. You will also be responsible for the generic competency/training matrix for the O&M team including adaptation to the specific site requirements, developing and maintaining training plans (coordinated with L&D teams) when necessary.

The overall aim is to achieve world class performance levels working in partnership with joint-venture partners, employees, contractor and members of the public by ensuring Iberdrola internal procedures, legal requirements, regulation and norms are applied on Offshore Wind sites. The successful candidate will be supported by local teams in regards to across country legislation requirements.

About You

We are looking for someone who is flexible and open to adapt the role following project requirements, with an ability to integrate with, and influence, project teams consisting of various parties. Due to this, you should have good relationship and team management/leadership skills with experience of working in multidisciplinary teams. You will also have planning and organisation skills alongside strong presentation abilities.

You will be degree qualified in Engineering, Science or Maritime, or Technical Trade Qualified Engineering Technician with extensive applicable experience. Electrical or mechanical engineering experience in a relevant industry would be valuable, alongside knowledge of hydraulics and plant machinery.

Ideally you will have NEBOSH/IOSH or equivalent H&S qualification, therefore you will have good technical skills in regards to HSEQ and ability to work integrated in a team. If you have experience of working with large machinery and in an offshore construction/operations environment, we want to hear from you.

This is a permanent, full-time position based in London (EC4Y 0AH) with a starting salary from £50400 per annum (and up to 15% bonus and Private Single Heath Care), depending on experience and qualifications. The individual will be working as part of a global business with activities in many countries across Europe and the rest of the world. The position may require frequent travel to various locations in Germany, UK and overseas.
