A Process Engineer opportunity exists within our Daldowie Sludge Treatment Works plant in Uddingston. Our Daldowie sludge processing plant manufactures fuel pellets from sewage sludge.

About the Role

The Process Engineer is part of the key technical resource in ensuring compliance with areas covering process safety, technical risk management, plant modifications, and environmental monitoring.  The role is one of the key section head level roles that carry out the technical management of the plant to optimise commercial availability and ensure we comply with our obligations under the PFI Agreement.

The role provides industry leading expert skills in the management of the critical LTP Plant at Daldowie, with knowledge and experience of wastewater processes and current applicable legislation. The role is the front line liaison with the client on management of the LTP process including interfacing with the clients specialist consultant engineers to ensure optimum pass through of sludge and agreeing the limits on the pass through of potentially harmful toxic load to the Daldowie biological process.

To provide the management and leadership necessary to deliver the safe, efficient and environmentally compliant production of fuel at Daldowie. To maximise the financial contribution to the Generation Business through effectively managing and utilising financial, people and materials and parts resources.

About You

We will be looking for someone with a HND/Degree in Chemical Engineering with extensive technical skills and knowledge in the area of process chemistry; you should have broad experience of power, process or water industry plant operations and be capable of process plant monitoring, adjustment and safety management. Ideally you will also have an Environmental Management Qualification/Wastewater Treatment Certificate.

Ideally you will be self-motivated with a flexible approach to work, able to act independently to deliver the needs of the business and work through unprecedented occurrences. You should be capable of interpreting and understanding complex data to generate solutions, and have strong communication, influencing and negotiation skills alongside a proven track record of delivering successful results.

This is a permanent, full-time position based at Daldowie (G71 7RX) with a minimum starting salary between £35,547 - £44,434 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications, plus other company benefits including Stakeholder Pension plan, training and development, generous annual leave and flexible benefits of your choice.
