Join us as an Android Web Developer within the UK Digital Team, and you’ll be responsible for delivering industry leading digital experiences designed from the customer up. You will use the newest technologies to innovate and differentiate ScottishPower from other utilities.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a big-thinking digital pro who wants to work in a fast-paced, agile, digital playground delivering game-changing projects adding real benefit for our customers; We are not all about bills and meter readings, you will be involved in exciting projects that put us at the centre of the connected home and business both here in the UK and in other countries that the Iberdrola Group operates across.

REQUIREMENTS 
  • Expert hands-on software development experience, implementing solutions that are portable, robust, scalable and secure
  • Strong knowledge of developing for Android and Google’s AOSP
  • Expert at configuring and using version control, CI and CD software
  • Expert in TDD, writing auto-tests, stress tests,
  • Proven understanding of good software architecture and design. Able to create efficient, readable and maintainable modules/components
  • Enthusiastic user of CI, CD and Agile practices
  • Expert knowledge of several or all of the following: Java, RxJava, Gradle, Git, JSON, RESTful APIs,
  • Knowledge of analytics frameworks and implementations
  • Experience of implementing software as a service principles
  • Excellent knowledge of Agile development methodologies and development processes; SCRUM, TDD, CI, CD
As you’ll be working as part of a team and on your own, you’ll need to be adaptable and have strong communication skills.

Finally with your experience leading and mentoring developers to ensure best practices and coding standards are understood and maintained this will allow delivery of game-changing projects that add real benefits for our customers to put you at the heart of our business by delivering these.
